The Office Renewal
Back to 2003

In late February, we decided to undertake a project that had been lingering in the background since we bought the house: insulate the back room that we use as the office.  We first removed all the 1/4-inch plywood covering the walls, installed insulation, drywall, and then the drywall mud. We next sanded the walls, primed them, and painted everything white, using the left-over paint we had used for the kitchen. Finally, we installed 1 x 8 rough  cedar on the ceiling with smooth cedar for the trim molding.

It no longer feels like the inside of a refrigerator when we enter the room in the mornings.

On the right is a picture of how the room looked shortly after we bought the house.

The next three are pictures of how the rest of house looked for 9 days after we removed everything from the room.
