On October 8, we decided to stay a whole day and night at Drakesbad, a small resort in the Lassen Volcanic National Park, just north of Chester and about 30 miles from the house.  We had always wanted to do this after many years of just going there for lunch.

In the morning before we left, we hiked up and down the trail to Terminal Geyser, one of the longer hikes from the resort.
